Editorial Reviews:

  • Introducing Masque from Splash Products?the most elegant, cost-effective, and convenient way to protect the screen of your coveted device. Masque is made from superior quality 3-layer PET film imported from Japan. The film ensures zero-to-minimal bubbles during application, applies easily, and is reusable. The film takes all the abuse and protects your screen from scratches, dust, normal signs of wear. It has just the right level of thickness - not too thin to be ineffective, yet not too thick to impede the touch feature of your device. It allows you to use your device with ease. Apply the Masque to your device and you will forget it's even there, yet your screen will have the protection it needs.

  • Summary: Dont get any dust stuck in it!!
  • Comment: This screen protector is just awful. I went through the entire pack of protectors and could not get a good non bubble seal on the ipad. If you get a single spec of dust on the screen you will have a horrible bubble that wont go away. This is just not a good product and save your money for some of the more better solutions. The best one i have seen so far is the Zagg.

  • Summary: Poor design
  • Comment: At least this screen protector comes with good instructions and the actual shield is sandwiched between two protector covers that are easy to remove. Problem is that the "shield" itself is too large, it extends over the borders of the touchscreen onto the perimeter and it's impossible to have the shield lay flush on the touchscreen. The result is lots of bubbles and a seriously poor fit. Would never buy again.

  • Summary: Installed easier than anything I've used so far.
  • Comment: I've been installing screen protectors to cell phones, PDAs, iPods, etc, etc, since I've owned a Windows CE based PDA many many years ago. I'd rate Splash Masque screen protector for iPad one of the easiest I've used so far. In fact, it took me longer to apply another brand of protector to my iPod Touch compared to installing this one to iPad. The package is nice, instructions are clear (pun intended) and it comes with a cleaning cloth and a little card to push out bubles. I've seen some protectors that are just too thin, and while you are holding the corner to position it over the screen, the corner bends ruining the protector. This is NOT one of them; it is sturdy.

Needless to say, you have to be patient and take your time with it. The most critical point is removing any speck of dust from the screen. Even if you dont get any air bubbles, specks of dust will raise the protector with a nice halo around it. Just clean it with the included cloth until you cant see any specks with a flash light, keep a Dust-Off handy and use gloves if you have 'em. I know it sounds like a surgical operation, but if this ensures putting the protector down at the first try without any hassles, then it's worth it :)

    Good luck!

  • Summary: Just like Most Others - Just More Smudgy Smudgy
  • Comment: Had a hard time putting on the screen. Instructions could have warned about dust even tiny ones as they'll result in perpetual bubbles (I have 7!). Wish the product was anti-smudge but it wasn't so always end up having to wipe my finger and palm prints every now and then. It's also not anti-glare which means you see background and ceiling lights etc when watching videos. I know the dust thingy is something that cannot be avoided, but surely smudges and reflection should be the aim of any screen protector manufacturer. Am now searching for a better product.

  • Summary: Do not be mislead!
  • Comment: Despite some of the negative reviews here, IF you start with a clean iPad screen, and IF you go slow and take your time, this protective screen goes on as easily as any out there. Putting down a large video screen protector is just fraught with chances to screw it up, but, if you follow my first two conditions (i.e. start with a CLEAN SCREEN, and GO SLOW), the Masque iPad screen covers work just fine. I got my first one to install fine leaving me backups for later use. These are as good as any and like most modern screen protecters, they are the 3 layer design. You remove layer one and install it on the iPad screen, then squeegee out as many bubbles as possible. Then and only then, you remove layer two (made easy by the included, labeled tab), and you are good to go. This is NOT rocket science, it just takes a steady hand and abit of patience. I am very happy with mine.
